Hi, I'm Erin. I'm an Accredited Practising Dietitian, Accredited Nutritionist and former Personal Trainer. I am a member of Dietitians Australia as well as an Associate Member of Sports Dietitians Australia. Most importantly, I'm a person who loves food!
In a previous life, I worked in the fitness industry and it was during this time that I discovered many of my clients needed advice on nutrition more so than assistance with exercise. As personal trainers are not qualified to give nutrition advice, I decided to go back to university and nurture my love for all things food and nutrition.
As a dietitian, my objective is to help you reach your nutrition goals in a healthy way, whilst developing and maintaining your friendship with food. Using an evidence-based, client-led approach, I work with you to focus on your preferences and needs to enable you to implement sustainable and realistic changes for long-term success.
I can assist with a range of nutrition queries, with special interests in how our gut and microbiome affects overall health; food intolerances, irritable bowel syndrome & other disorders of the GI tract; sports nutrition for recreational to semi-professional athletes; improving your relationship with food; managing cardiovascular disease risk and challenging misinformation around food and nutrition.
I completed my Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics with Honours at Queensland University of Technology. During the COVID pandemic, I also completed the Dietitians Australia Sports Nutrition Essentials course and am now working toward becoming an Accredited Sports Dietitian as well. I am also an educator at a tertiary institution.
Throughout my career, I have consulted with clients from the general population, people living with chronic disease, and semi-professional and recreational athletes across a range of activities. I pride myself on my friendly, non-judgemental and realistic approach to nutrition care. I currently consult out of Physioworks in Sandgate, Brisbane, as well as providing online telehealth consultations. Appointments can be made online here.
In my spare time, you’ll find me lifting weights, experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, travelling and sampling different foods from around the world. Or simply staying in and enjoying time with my husband and very spoiled cats!
